What Type of Printer Should You Have?

Reading time: Less than 4 minutes

Dye-based or Pigment? NO! These are types of ink that are used for continuous ink tank printers or previously known or referred to as Continuous Ink Supply System (CISS). The types of printers are Inkjet, Laser, Dot Matrix, Thermal, and so on.

To answer the question, it would be Inkjet Printers. And when it comes to Inkjet printers, there are two options: Ink Tank or Ink Cartridge. And when it comes to Ink tanks, you can use three types of ink: dye, pigment, and sublimation. Ang dami noh?

I’m not going to compare Ink Tank vs Ink Cartridge side by side due to obvious reasons: printers with ink tanks have cheaper printing cost and higher page yields than ink cartridges without sacrificing the print quality, which is recommended for printing businesses that focus on paper goods.

So parang mali yata ang question ko...? Dapat pala, “What type of ink should you use?” 😁

Since we’re focusing on paper goods:
Type of printer: Inkjet Printer

Type of ink: Dye or Pigment

Dye vs Pigment

* Tip: Printing on special coated paper can help to make dye ink water-resistant and avoid fading quickly. You can also add a photo top or cold laminating film for added protection against water and sunlight and for long lasting print.
